Evo Morales calls in Paras to suppress native protestors on a peaceful march …

Once again, the state seems to be a mechanism for violence. What makes this even more upsetting is that Morales is a member of one of the indigenous peoples of Bolivia and came to power on a wave of indigenous empowerment. Seems what is sauce for the goose is not sauce for the gander. The protest march from Trinidad (Bolivia) to La Paz was intended to bring a stop to a 298 km highway that would bisect a national park Isiboro Secure (TIPNIS) (and is itself considered indigenous territory).
