UK unemployment benefits threatened unless beneficiaries sign up to work without pay at retailers.

The premise is that Unemployed Youth are “interned” with retailers while they seek work. Here’s the thing:

They work 30 hour weeks, must be available 9a to 10p, oh and if they quit — they lose the benefits.

Sounds like retail slavery to me. Talking about punishing the victims of a tanked economy.
