Big Brother is Costing UK

In 4 years UK Councils spent Half-a-Billion pounds on CCTV installations. Almost all of it done without prior study or notice.

The normalization and proliferation of cameras is counfounding to me. Why on earth would you need to surveil every inch of public space 24/7?

“In case something bad happens?” That seems unacceptable when the costs of diverting those  £500 million from the NHS, for example.
