Harvard Library tell faculty to go open access …

In light of the retrograde copywrite access fees Canadian Universities have just agreed to (and jacking up materials costs 600% for students) Harvard’s Library has stated in no uncertain terms that the walled-garden of private access to public research is not fiscally tenable (setting aside the ethics).

Facutly are being encouraged to move to open access journals and resign from the review boards of journals that refuse to move to open access.

About time. And as for the Canadian universities? Wake the hell up you nincompoops!
