In Britain, Privatization of Public Services leaps the Shark

Picture this: Your local council, in a fit of fiscal peake, privatizes all services and indeed its own operations. Everything from adult care services for those with disabilities to parking meters and everything in between, is dolled out to private contractors with no cost comparison to Council run services. Oh and the contracts are for 10 year blocks which, due to commercial confidentially, means that decision making processes will disappear behind a wall of obfuscation.

This is the story of OneBarnet — the branded and privatized local council. Worth a read, if only to scare the living bejeezus out of you.
