This is one of those fascinating examples where I have no reason to believe Negroponte is lying, but where I think he may be wrong about the initial conditions. The implication here is that the kids may have never seen a computer. Well – maybe. You’d have to go a helluva long way on this earth to find someone whose never seen a computer. Even something as basic as a digital watch.

If you take that problem and set it aside — the self instruction of the kids OLPC is describing is really interesting. I hope they get the funding. Its a neat premise.
