NSA taps the internet.

The National Security Agency of the US has had access to the systems of the major service providers since 2007, starting with Microsoft and culminating with apple in 2012. The companies involved deny any knowledge of the access. If they are telling the truth then the US government is guilty of a massive hacking operation. If the companies in question are cooperating knowingly, then they deserve to be burned to the ground along with the US government. Glenn Greenwald, reporting in the Guardian with Ewen MacAskill reveals a project named PRISM. PRISM may be the most ambitious surveillance operation since the East German Stasi’s attempts to surveil the entire East German population. I can only assume that this programme is not limited to the US. How compromised are Canadians? Britons? Anyone?
