I’m trying to figure out why this has not seen the collapse of the American and British Governments.

So far we have evidence that two States have engaged in active spying on their own citizens (this is setting aside for the moment the ethics of spying period).

Not China, not North Korea, but the US and the UK. Ostensibly democratic states. States governed at some level by their people. Well it seems that the level at which those people govern is so inconsequential as to render their rights a thing to be observed more in the breech than anything else.

Why aren’t we in the streets people? A shoulder shrug on this shit is just going to result in increasingly draconian surveillance regimes.
