Violating the sanctity of a head of state is perhaps the mildest thing we’ve seen of late, but the consequences for the US, if it expects its diplomatic immunity agreements to stand may be somewhat more serious. Next time Air Force 1 touches down, it should be impounded. Austria’s ambassadors should have their credentials revoked globally.
